Sarso Ka Saag

Sarso ka saag and makki ki roti is the great combination to taste in winters. So lets try today sarso ka saag.


Ingredients for Sarso Ka Saag:

1/2 Kg. Green mustard/sarso leaves
250 gm. Tomatoes
2-3 Green chillies
1 inch Ginger
5-6 Cloves of garlic
2 Tablespoon  Oil
1-2 Pinch Heeng(asafoetida)
1/2 Tablespoon cumin seeds
1/4 Tablespoon Turmeric powder
1 Tablespoon corn flour
1/4 Tablespoon Red chilly powder
Salt (as per taste)
1 Tablespoon Butter/Ghee (for garnishing)

Method to cook Sarso ka saag:

  • Clean mustard leaves and pressure cook with 1 glass water for a single whistle. When pressure escapes from cooker,separate water and make a paste of mustard leaves in mixer grinder. Don't make a fine paste. 

  • Now make a fine paste of tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and garlic. 
  • Roast corn flour into a pan and take it out in a bowl.
  •   Take a pan or wok and heat oil into it. Now cracker cumin seeds into oil. Now add hing into wok.Now add tomatoes, green chilies, ginger and garlic paste into wok followed  by Turmeric and red chili powder and fry till oil separates.
  • Now add mustard leaves paste,roasted corn flour and salt as per taste into wok . Cook for 5-6 minutes on low flame. 

  • Sarso ka saag is ready . Take it out in a bowl and put butter on top to serve.

Cheese Corn Balls

Cheese with corn gives  an excellent taste together. This is loved by all age group people. These re deeply fried but easiest to cook. You can also prepare the ball in advance and just fry them at the time you want to serve hot.



Ingredients for Cheese Corn Balls:

  • 1 Cup boiled and crushed sweet corn.
  • 2 Tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 Green  chili (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Red chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon corn flour
  • 1 1/2 Grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 Tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 Tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 Tablespoon black pepper powder
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Oil (for deep frying)

Method to cook Cheese Corn Balls:

Take a plate and add corn,all purpose flour,green  chili,red chili powder,corn flour,mozzarella cheese,cumin powder,ginger,black pepper powder and salt as per taste.



Mix everything well together and prepare a dough.



Now prepare small (1/2 inch) balls from this dough and place them into a plate.



Now deep fry these balls into batches initially on low flame to cook all purpose flour and corn flour well.



Now golden fry them on medium flame and serve hot with chutney or sauce.

Veg Momos

Recipe Type:

Veg momos is a street food which is loved by most of the person. This a zero oil recipe and prepared with steam only. This is very delicious and nutritious snacks as consumes zero oil. So why not to try them at home .


Ingredients For Veg Momos Dough:

For 7-8 Piece of momos-
1 Cup / 100gm maida(refined flour)
1/3 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Cooking oil
Salt( As  per taste) 


Ingredients For Filling :

1 Cup /100gm cabbage (grated)
1/2 Cup Capsicum (grated)
1/2 Cup Carrot (grated)
1 Tbsp Oil( To fry filling)
1/2 Tbsp White Vinegar 
1/2 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1/2 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Garlic Paste
1/2 Tbsp Black pepper powder


Ingredients For Red Chutney

2 Small Tomatoes
4-5 Red Chilies or Kashmiri Chilies
1/2 inch Ginger
1/4 Tbsp White Vinegar
1/4 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1/2 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Oil 


Method To Cook Veg Momos:

  • 1. Take refined flour in a bowl and add all ingredients of dough then add water slowly to knead stiff dough. Leave dough aside for 20 min.
  • 2.In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and add garlic paste to it. fry garlic paste till it becomes a little brown. Add Cabbage to it and fry for a minute. Now add Capsicum and carrot one by one and fry them for 1 min.
  • 3.Now add salt, vinegar and soya sauce to it and fry for 1 min.
  • 4.Turn off heat ,add black pepper and mix well. Now filling is ready.
  • 5. Divide the dough in 8 equal pieces and prepare thin discs. Fill 1 tbsp filling to each disc and bring sides together to center, pinching firmly together to form a dumpling.
  • 6. Steam all prepared momos for 10-12 min in a steamer. Serve hot with chutney

Method To Preprae Chutney:

  • 1. In a mixer prepare paste of tomatoes ,chilies and ginger.
  • 2.Take a pan and heat 1 tbsp oil to it. Now add tomatoes ,chillest and ginger paste to it. Fry on high flame till oil separates . 
  • 3.Now add salt , vinegar and soya sauce. Take out in a bowl , cool down and serve with hot momos.

Stuffed Mirchi Pakoda

Recipe Type:

Stuffed mirchi pakoda is a very delicious and spicy recipe for mirchi lovers. This is mostly enjoyed in winters and rainy season. Its very easy and simple to cook it.



Ingredients for Stuffed Mirchi Pakoda:

1/2 Kg . Larger Green Chili  
1/2 Kg. Besan (for batter)
1/2 tea spoon  Red Chili Powder
1-2 Spoon Semolina(To make pakoda crispy)
1 tea spoon Turmeric Powder
Salt as per taste
Oil for (deep fry) 

Ingredients for filling :

6-7 Medium Size Potatoes
Salt as per taste
1/2 tea spoon dry mango powder
Asafoetida/heeng a pinch
1/2 tea spoon  Red Chili Powder

Method to cook stuffed mirchi pakoda:

  • Take a big bowl and add besan, red chili powder ,turmeric powder,semolina , salt and some water to it. Prepare a thick batter by mixing all these ingredients well. 


  • Boil potatoes and mash them on a plate. Mix salt, mango powder, heeng, red chili powder to potatoes well. 

  • Boil chilies till the color of chilies gets changed. Now cut a mark by knife vertically to all chilies. 

  • Now fill stuffing of boiled potatoes to each chili. 

  • Pour chilies into batter now and deep fry in hot cooking oil till they become golden brown.

  • Serve hot with green or red chutney. 




Note: Few people do not boil the chilies. They fill the stuffing without boiling chilies. You can try it by both the way.

Besan capsicum cheela


Besan ka cheela is a very delicious and famous recipe for breakfast. It becomes very tasty when roasted with oil. Cheela can be cooked with different vegetables but using capsicum in cheela changes its taste completely. Just try it once.


Ingredients for Besan Capsicum Cheela:


  • 1 Cup Besan/gram flour
  • 1 Cup Rava/Semolina 
  • 1/2 Cup Curd 
  • 1  Green chili , finely chopped
  • 1/4 tea spoon  Red chili powder (for colour)
  • 1/2 tea spoon Turmeric powder 
  • Salt as per taste
  • Asafoetida/heeng a pinch

Method to cook Besan capsicum cheela:


  • Take a bowl and add gram flour, semolina,curd,red chili powder,turmeric powder,green chili, asafoetida , finely chopped capsicum and salt to it.


  • Mix all the ingredients very well and add some water to make thick batter. Leave the batter aside for 10 minutes.

  • Now heat a pan on high flame and then drop 1 tbsp oil on pan .
  •  Now put the flame medium and pour 1 or 1-1/2 spoon batter and spread it evenly on the pan. For fisrt cheela add more oil on pan(2 tbsp) because there is a possibility of cheela to getting stuck on the pan. Now pour few drops of oil at the corners of the cheela, and spread the tea spoon of oil over the cheela evenly. 
  • Cook the cheela till upper layer changes its color and bottom layer becomes golden brown.
  • Now flip the cheela with the help of spatula and cook back side as well golden brown.
  • Prepare all the cheela in same way and serve with green chutney.

Vegetable Chowmein

Recipe Type:


Chowmein is a dish in which we cook noodles seperately and then topping them with different vegetables and ingredients in different styles. The indian way is being described here.it is very much liked by children.



Ingredients for Chowmein:

  • 200 gm Noodles 
  • 150 gm Cabbage 
  • 2 Onions , small size
  • 2 Capsicum , small size
  • 1 tea spoon Azenomoto 
  • 1tbsp Soya Sauce 
  • 1 tbsp White Vinegar 
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • 3-4 tbsp Refined oil 











Method to cook Chowmein:

  • Boil 10 cup of water in a large pan and let the water bubble. 
  • Add 1 tbsp oil in boiling water so that noodles does not stick to each other. 
  • Drop noodles in boiling water for 5-8 minutes so that noodles get half cooked.

  • Drain the noodles and wash under running water. 
  • Spread noodles on a flat surface.
  • Now cut thin and large slices of onions,capsicum and cabbage. If available you can add thin slices of carrot and spring onions as well. This gives nice colour in chowmein.



  • Now heat a pan and add 3-4tbsp oil into it. Add onion,capsicum and cabbage one by one into pan and toss them slightly. 
  • We need not to cook vegetables much.Just toss them a little bit.  

  • Now add noodles,soya sauce, vinegar,azenomoto and salt to pan. Mix everything very well. We need not to add much salt as soya sauce itself contains some salty texture.

  • If required add 1tbsp water to pan so that noodles does not stick to the surface of pan.
  • Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium flame .Your chowmein is ready.


  •  Serve hot with chili sauce and tomato sauce.

Paneer Bhurji

Paneer bhurji is a popular dish loved by every Indian. Its a very easy recipe. It can be cook quickly. Paneer bhurji tastes good with Roti or parantha.   





Ingredients:


  • Paneer 200 gm, crumbled 
  • Capsicum 2 medium size, finely chopped
  • Onion 1 medium size, finely chopped
  • Tomato 1 medium size, finely chopped
  • Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Coriander powder 1 tea spoon
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Green chili 2 , finely chopped
  • Cooking oil 2 tbsp



Method to cook paneer bhurji:


  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Cracker cumin seeds in hot oil.
  • Add green chili and chopped onion in pan and turn the onion colour golden.
  • Now add capsicum and sauce it for a while. Now add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala to the pan. Mix spices well and apply a lid on pan . Now cook for 5-6 minutes till masala gets cooked.
  • Now add crumbled paneer and salt as per taste mix well. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Its ready now.
  • Garnish with green coriander leaves and serve with roti or pratha.
